OC GRAND JURY URGES CONSIDERATION OF CADIZ PROJECT
The Orange County Grand Jury regularly looks at the County’s water providers and makes recommendations. Many aren’t particularly good, but this June’s Grand Jury report, “Orange County Water Sustainability: Who Cares?” was exceptional.
Among its many recommendations was one that is particularly astute:
Ultimately, Cadiz remains a controversial issue as a future source of water. Regardless of differences; however, it is a future source of water that should not be ignored.
The Grand Jury concluded, “[W]ater districts in South Orange County shall consider the Cadiz Project in any discussion on sustainability of water in the southern part of the county.”
The full Grand Jury report can be viewed here. The mentions of Cadiz are on pages and 26 and 33. The report’s description of the Cadiz project is a bit flawed, however, so turn to this website and www.CadizInc.com for more accurate project descriptions.
