Strong Support for Cadiz Project in San Bernardino County
San Bernardino CA (October 1, 2012) – More than 2,500 residents of San Bernardino County have expressed strong support for the Cadiz Water Conservation, Recovery and Storage Project to the County’s Board of Supervisors, who are considering the Project’s Groundwater Monitoring, Management and Mitigation Plan today at a public hearing.
County residents signed cards gathered by project advocates at local markets throughout the area over the last month. The outreach program was carried out by Cadiz Inc. as part of its www.water4socal.com outreach effort.
Laer Pearce, a public affairs veteran who has been involved in the outreach campaign, said, “Having more than 2,000 people send in support cards is a large outpouring of public support and evidence of the importance to the region’s residents of developing reliable water supplies, supporting local economic growth and safely managing the area’s resources.”
The cards were gathered throughout all major cities of the County, including more than 600 from the Hi-Desert cities closest to the project area.
The Project has received substantial support from San Bernardino County organizations and businesses, including seven county Chambers of Commerce, the Inland Empire Business Council, local government officials, and the Building Industry Association of Southern Califronia.
